Vinositeshop.com is live!!!

Vino launches e-commerce site.

It's been a long time in the making: the Vino staff is very proud to announce that our new e-commerce site is now officially live.

Please visit us on the web at www.vinositeshop.com.

Ordering has never been easier. Delivery in Manhattan is still free for orders over $100 and a nominal fee ($5) is applied to orders under $100.

For out-of-state customers, shipping (ground and expedited) is also available.

And, of course, any wines that appear in the Weekly Word of Vino, our weekly e-letter, are now just a click away (see below)!

Changes are coming to Vinosite.com as well. Stay tuned for a new archive of e-letters, including Charles Scicolone's Wine Opinion, wine notes, recipes, and much more.

In other news...

The response to the "Ten Chiantis" tasting has been overwhelming. If you're planning to attend, please try to come on the early side. Please also remember that there is no tasting tomorrow, Friday, July 21.

Next week our Summer Tasting Schedule will resume, with tastings on Thurs. and Fri. 5:30-7:30. We hope to see you there.

Charles took the week off from his weekly Wine Opinion but will be pouring and discussing the wines at the tasting today. Look for his Wine Opinion next week when he returns.

Wine of the Week: Chianti Classico 2002 Castello dei Rampolla

The Rampolla winery is located in the heart of Chianti Classico in the township of Panzano and has been producing wines since the 13th century. For more than two generations, the Di Napoli family has made some of the appellation's greatest bottlings, parterning with legendary Italian winemaker Giacomo Tacchis and stricting adhering to its mission of biodynamic farming.

Castello dei Rampolla is perhaps more famous for its legendary Super Tuscan, Sammarco, which we also carry, a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Sangiovese (we currently have the 1995 and 2000 in stock). But its Chianti Classico has long stood apart as one of the top expressions of the appellation.

We will be pouring and tasting the wine today as part of our "Ten Chiantis" tasting, today, 5:30-7:30.

Get 10% off this week only at Vino.
