Château Lamothe de Haux 2010 (Bordeaux, France)
Appellation:
Bordeaux AOC
Grape:
40% Sauvignon Blanc, 40% Sémillon, 20% Muscadelle
Belonging to one family for 3 generations, the Chateau Lamothe estate has been in existence since the 16th century. Located in the commune of Haux, on hills made of clay and limestone, the winery makes great use of the cavernous underground rooms that were originally excavated in the 17th and 18th centuries to extract stone used to build Chateaux in the surrounding area. The caves, ranging up to 60 meters deep, are ideal for storing and aging wine. This classic blend of Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon, and Muscadelle spends three week in vat and old barrel on its lees, producing an expressive and refreshing wine to be enjoyed year round.
