Barone Cornacchia Montepulciano d'Abruzzo 2009 (Abruzzo, Italy)

The estate of Azienda Agricola Barone Cornacchia has been in the hands of the Cornacchia family for over four centuries. It is currently run by Piero Cornacchia who took over from his father in 1971 and modernised the facilities with the aim of continuing the traditional approach in the vineyards while increasing its quality and consistency. Made from 90% Montepulciano and 10% Sangiovese, the wine spends 6 -8 months in large Slavonian cask before bottling, showing a classic style montepulciano, clean with dark plummy fruit and hints of earth.
